Clarke Gayford finds himself 10 degrees below the equator in 35C of heat as he heads off on a Solomon Island Adventure.
Normally the waters here are crystal clear but Clarke discovers that he has arrived during one of nature’s greatest life events, the coral bloom.
Arriving at his accommodation Clarke explores something he has always wanted, a room over the water. Imagination Island is a rustic resort in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.
Heading out the next morning by small boat Clarke has prepped his gear to focus on his FISH OF THE DAY, the Bluefin Trevally.
Coming across a surface school of baitfish a cast later and he is hooked up. Unbelievably he is straight into the action and in comes his first Bluefin Trevally.
A short time later with two Bluefin Trevally on board they head back to the island where Chef Dudley pulls a simple fish curry together on the beach using fresh local coconut cream carved out and made right there on the beach.
Then Clarke heads over to Tulagi Island where they explore a wrecked cruise ship before arriving at Raiders Dive resort on the island. Here Clarke heads out with owner Bob as they dive NZ’s only warship lost to enemy fire in WWII.
