Catch fish for a 1st Birthday Luau

Eddie Mafnas and Uncle Roy

There is a deep ancient connection between the people of Hawaii and New Zealand, which as a New Zealander host Clarke Gayford is quick to discover. Similarities of culture and a strong connection to the sea run through just about everything. In this episode Clarke looks at an ancient form of food security the Hawaiians developed with fish pens, and an even older style of hunting ‘Taco’ or Octopus with a local that involves hands and teeth. With great surfing, fishing and spearfishing on the Island of Oahu to be had, it’s easy to see why some people describe this place as paradise.
